Suffolk Liberal Democrats criticise the drop in lollipop patrols

A loss of a third of the county's lollipop patrols over the last two years is described as "short-sighted" by the leader of Suffolk County Council's Liberal Democrats.

The leader of Suffolk County Council's Liberal Democrats, Dave Wood, has criticised the drop in the number of lollipop patrols in the county. They've gone down by a third over the last two years. Foz also hears from the council's Road Safety Manager, Mike Mottram.

Councillors from across England and Wales have gathered in Birmingham today -- amid warnings of serious long-term pressure on local services. The Local Government Association says councils will face an annual short-fall of more than sixteen billion pounds by 2020 because of the rising cost of caring for the elderly and the disabled. Foz asks Colin Noble, the Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Care at Suffolk County Council, what the future holds for Suffolk's public services.

Refunds have been offered to stallholders at this year's Suffolk show. They missed out on a lucrative day of trading when the second day of the event was cancelled due to bad weather. Foz talks to the owner of Munchy Seeds in Leiston who says he won't be claiming the money.

In the first hour Foz meets The Fonz! Not Henry Winkler but the local man playing The Fonz in the Wolsey Appeal Theatre Group's production of the Happy Days musical.

In the Music Hour after 6pm, Foz chats to country rocker Jason Ringenberg, one of the stars of this weekend's Maverick Music Festival at Easton Farm Park. The duo Silkwinders are In Session and they'll be chatting to Foz about their folky songs.
