Is smacking ever an effective punishment?

JVS asks for your stories and opinions.

The phone-in at 9, 'Is smacking ever an effective punishment?'
A group of children's charities has called for a ban on smacking youngsters to be introduced to Scotland. The Children are Unbeatable coalition said young people should have the same protection from assault as adults. A similar call for a complete ban in England and Wales was dropped in 2002 after it was deemed to be unworkable. It is already illegal to physically punish a child in a way that leaves a mark or with any sort of implement.

From 10, Antonia Tully joins JVS to discuss 'Are primary school children too young to learn about sex?'
