An introduction to the glamorous city of Rio de Janeiro. Rio is the second largest city in Brazil and is located in a spectacular natural setting of mountains, forests and beaches. However, Rio is a city of strong contrasts between the rich and the poor. One third of people live in districts of self-built homes called favelas.
