Aeroplane seating configurations - utilising space (pt 2/2)
The cargo space in the fuselage of a plane is explored - how do we maximise the amount of baggage a plane can carry? The presenter looks at how the space under the floor of the passenger cabin is used. As the fuselage is approximately circular in cross section, the baggage hold is quite an awkward shape. With cases being mostly rectangular, this presents a problem - which airlines get around by using specially shaped baggage crates.
