Technology in the modern home
In the 1930s, power stations were built right across the country, pumping out electricity day and night. Huge pylons were built to carry this affordable power directly into the home. Household appliances were redesigned and improve to utilise this new energy source. At first they were still luxuries but soon they were mass produced and prices came down.
