Was the Glorious Revolution glorious?
Historians explain how the propaganda surrounding the Glorious Revolution created a misleading impression, in that it was not glorious and might not even be described as a revolution. On the other hand, it was significant in that the country was prepared to stand up to their monarch in the name of religion. Even more important was the fact that by the late 1600s, the Church was forced to accept that it could not crush all rival forms of Christianity and so religious toleration, albeit grudging, became an accepted element of life in England.
