Life for the Jewish community under Hitler
After the outbreak of war, the Jewish community suffered increasing persecution in Germany as new laws heavily restricted their freedom. Jews were only allowed to use one designated shop in every area and many had to walk miles to buy provisions. They were forced to wear a yellow Star of David at all times and were segregated in cramped and impoverished ghettos.
