In a special look at the career of soul star Bobby Womack, Front Row’s John Wilson speaks to Damon Albarn about his band Gorillaz’s musical collaboration with Womack. In 2010, Womack came back from a ten-year break in his career to record with Albarn for the third Gorillaz album, Plastic Beach. Womack contributed lyrics and sang on the track ‘Stylo’. But during the recording, Womack suffered a dramatic diabetic episode.
