Woman who witnessed Nowton Park horse death didn't sleep for a week

A woman who witnessed a horse collide with a grandmother at last summer's Nowton Park Country Fair says she didn't eat or sleep for a week after the accident. Carole Bullett died of her injuries.

In the news hour from 5pm, a horse handler has spent nearly four hours giving evidence at an inquest into the death of a Bury St Edmunds woman. Sally Tyrell told the inquest jury she didn't sleep or eat for a week after the accident and that she still has flashbacks to the event in June 2011 when Carole Bullett received fatal injuries after a horse bolted into crowds at the Nowton Park Country Fair. Our West Suffolk Producer Philippa Taylor has more.

Suffolk County Council is to freeze its share of the council tax for the third year running. The decision follows a government announcement that it will extend the grant it gives to local authorities to help keep the charge down. Council Leader Mark Bee says they're looking at making cuts that won't affect what they actually do. But Sandy Martin, the leader of the Labour Group on the council, tells Foz that the whole system is unfair and needs reforming.

Suffolk Police are hoping a pilot project to test suspects for drugs will cause more people to address their addictions. At the end of last month, 25% of those arrested and brought to Martlesham Police station were given the test. Out of those, nearly 30% were found with class A substances, such as heroin or cocaine, in their blood. Foz asks the co-ordinator for the Suffolk Drug and Alcohol Action Team, Simon Aalders, if drug taking is on the increase in the county.

In the first hour from 4pm, Lynne Mortimer takes a look at some of the best TV coming up over the next few days in On The Box. Foz also grabs a chat with Joan Armatrading about her forthcoming gig in Ipswich.

In the music hour from 6pm, Foz renews acquaintances with US singer songwriter Steve Forbert, local folk band Riotous Assembly are In Session and there are two Ian Hunter tracks back-to-back.
