The Very Best are in the studio with Cerys Matthews
The Very Best is Malawi's Esau Mwamwaya and London-based producer Johan Hugo. They had a chance introduction over the purchase of a bicycle in East London. Their debut album Warm Heart of Africa was released in 2010 and featured Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig and MIA.
The band will be performing tracks from their latest album MTMTMK, which was recorded in five weeks in Mwamwaya's hometown of Lilongwe and features Amadou and Mariam, Baaba Maal and K'naan.
