Wettest summer blues: Tony and Paul
For an ice cream maker and a farmer, this summer's rain has been bad news. But has the rain and flooding pushed Tony and Paul to the edge financially and emotionally?
Tony's family have made ice cream in Keswick for over a hundred years and this is their worst summer in living memory. Tony has lost count of the number of village shows that have been cancelled and the show grounds he's been towed off.
It's been no better for Paul Barnes, whose land near Bassenthwaite Lake has mostly remained under water. Harvesting crops and husbanding animals on waterlogged ground has been a thankless task.
