Greece and India
Pascale Harter presents stories from Theopi Skarlatos on the crisis in Greece and Anu Anand on quality of life in India.
Dispatches from foreign correspondents, presented by Pascale Harter.
Greece鈥檚 economic woes are well-known, and the effect of government cuts and austerity is being felt by ordinary people all over the country. In this edition we have a personal view from Theopi Skarlatos, whose childhood memories of growing up in the Greek capital feel a long way from the Athens of today.
Also in the programme, Anu Anand has been living a relatively comfortable existence in India for two years. But she鈥檚 lost count of the number of times she鈥檚 had to call an electrician, or a plumber. Beyond India鈥檚 upper classes, she speculates that the frustrations of everyday life are hurting small businesses and the poor.
