Eight days of rocket and airplane attacks in Gaza and Israel have left five Israelis and more than 150 Palestinians dead. Our correspondent Jon Donnison has been covering the conflict, and he sent us a dispatch from the ground in Gaza City.

In the town of Laroque des Alberes, on the border with Spain, the residents identify more with Barcelona than Paris. Petroc Trelawney has been visiting French Catalonia. And at the other end of the country, Emma Jane Kirby has revisited the site of a controversial refugee camp just across the Channel from England. The camp has been closed for a decade, but migrants still come there, they still live in squalid conditions, and they still hope to cross one last border.

Caroline Anning has been to a theme park with a difference – Hezbollah’s take on a holiday resort high in the mountains of Lebanon. And in the capital, Lucy Knight has been spending time with graffiti artists trying to make their mark on the art world and their hometown.

Finally we get invited out to dinner with Stephen Evans in Berlin. At the homes of well-off Germans, he doesn’t find the kind of competitive food offering that he’s used to in London – and that has set him thinking about value, austerity and the German psyche.
