The Iliad: the death of Hector (audio)
Hector and Achilles duel on the plain of Troy. Achilles is determined to avenge the death of Patroclus by killing Hector. He strikes the fatal blow, Hector begs Achilles to return his body to Troy, but Achilles mocks him, swearing to mutilate his corpse in order to further humiliate Troy. As Hector dies he predicts the death of Achilles.
