Switzerland's referendum system
We visit Rebekka, a teenager who lives in Switzerland. She first describes her impressions of life in Gelfingen and her school in the nearby town of Biel. She describes what Switzerland's neutrality means. She then defines the Swiss political system as a 'half direct democracy' and explains how the two types of referenda in Switzerland work. Later we hear Rebekka discussing the advantages and disadvantages of the referenda system.
