Becoming a Sadhu
For Hindus, death is like a passageway between one life and the next. They believe that when they die, depending on how they have lived their life, they will come back again to a higher or lower existence. They believe their soul is constantly travelling through an endless cycle of death and rebirth. Some Hindus try to free their souls from this cycle by becoming a Sadhu. They give up all their worldly possessions and devote their life to prayer, to try and achieve Moksha or enlightenment.
