
Exploring a Taoist monastery in China
Taoist beliefs are examined by a visit to a monastery high in the mountains of China, meeting with the monks who live and pray there. Presenter Reverend Peter Owen-Jones visits the Jade Spring monastery, south of Beijing, and then ascends to the sacred peaks in the Hua Shan mountains. A monk explains to him the the idea of yin and yang and visits a cave carved from the rock over many decades where there is a concentration of Qi, or 'universal energy.
