Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor in Cardiff Station 1965
Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor are interviewed at Cardiff railway station by Brian Hoey for Wales Today in 1965. The couple were in Wales for the Wales vs England rugby match.
Burton had been in London for just over a week, filming scenes for The Spy Who Came in From The Cold (Paramount, 1965, based on the novel by John Le Carr茅) and would travel on to Dublin to continue work on the project. He and Elizabeth Taylor had recently completed The Sandpiper, filmed in California (MGM, 1965).
Brian Hoey also refers to their 1963 MGM film The VIPs, the first they worked on together after Cleopatra (Twentieth Century-Fox, 1963).
Wales would, as Elizabeth hoped, beat England, by 14 points to 3, on their way to the Triple Crown.
