Employment and industry in Barrow-in-Furness

Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria is situated at the tip of a peninsula with a deep water harbour. Shipbuilding once employed many more people than it now does, so other types of employment have developed. Leisure and retail have both grown as employers.
