The Bayeux Tapestry
A brief overview of the Bayeux Tapestry, which is actually an embroidery sewn by English craftsmen. The clip highlights its purpose, history and function. Several sections are shown in more detail to relate how and why the tapestry came to exist and how it was made. In the main central band alone - 600 men, 200 horses and 50 dogs are depicted. Sections are broken up by trees and the borders are made up of beasts and animals.
