Exploring France - cheese-making in the Alps
Josette Aitman uses a map to follow a walking route to visit a dairy farm in Meaudre, France. She explains that she needs to use different maps for different activities; when she鈥檚 on the road she needs a road map but when she鈥檚 walking she needs a more detailed map, showing her features that can help her navigate along the route. She works out the distance and time it will take her to reach her destination using the scale of the map. At the farm Josette meets dairy farmer, Jean-Charles, who tells her all about his dairy farm and the different types of cheese he makes and sells in the shop there. He then shows Josette the step by step process of making blue cheese.
