Addition of tens and ones
A demonstration of addition by grouping pennies into tens and ones. Two cartoon characters are counting pennies from a piggy bank. They have a pile of ten pennies and are counting a smaller pile in ones. The characters talk about what they are doing. An illustration of the addition appears behind them: 10+7=17. They get some more pennies and make piles of tens and ones. They count the piles of tens and then the ones left over to calculate the total.
