The Okovango Delta of Botswana
The Okavango Delta in Botswana is about twice the size of Scotland. It is a fertile area next to the Kalahari Desert and home to a vast array of plants and wildlife. The San people were previously hunters and are now cattle farmers. They settled in the area thousands of years ago. Modern farming methods, tourism and water usage threaten to upset the delicate balance of the environment.
