Journey to find the link between pyramids, obelisks and temples (pt 2/5)
Jamie Theakston and Marcelle Duprey attempt to find the link between pyramids, obelisks and temples. Originally the Egyptians buried the dead in the desert, but animals began digging up the bodies. They decided to bury them in underground chambers and built mud brick flat tombs above them called mastabas. King Djoser was the first king buried under a pyramid. Egyptians used different types of stone from quarries in different parts of Egypt to build the structures.
