Improving your football skills
Professional footballer Matt Holland's top tip for becoming a footballer is practice. The more you practise the better you become. As a mid-fielder you have to be able to do all the basics well; passing, shooting, heading and tackling. You need more power when shooting from outside the box, so you kick the ball using the laces of the boot and the strongest part of the foot. Nearer the goal you want more accuracy and for that you use the side of the boot. If you lean back and look up when either passing or shooting the ball is likely to go over the goal bar. Keeping your head and body over the ball keeps the ball low to the ground.
