Experiments to test air resistance

Do heavier objects fall faster than lighter objects? At the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the presenter explains how the Greek philosopher Aristotle worked using logic, not experimentation, and claimed heavy items would always fall to the ground first. This hypothesis went largely untested until Galileo threw objects of different weight from the top of the Tower of Pisa and found that their was only a very slight difference which he believed was caused by air resistance. When astronauts landed on the moon, an environment with no air, they tested Galileo's hypothesis in the airless environment, using a feather and a hammer, to find out if his hypothesis was true.
