The Moon
The Moon is a huge ball of rock in space which orbits the Earth. On the Moon there are mountains and flat areas called 'seas'. The Moon's surface is covered in craters caused by meteor impacts. The Moon is not a source of light. We only see the Moon when light from the Sun falls on it and is reflected back to us on Earth. This clip includes footage of the first landing on the Moon by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
