An account of the inauguration of President Obama told by two friends, one in Belfast, the other in Washington. Kirsten watches events with her school friends in the classroom in Northern Ireland. Afterwards she talks to her friend Leah in America on skype to hear about her trip to the Capital city on the historic day. Leah describes her hopes for change with the election of Obama and we see her preparing to set off. Leah uses her mobile phone to record an interview with her mother about their excitement and as dawn breaks, the family join the crowds. But will Leah catch a glimpse of the new President?
