Understanding earthquakes and plate tectonics
Seismic monitoring equipment around the world allows us to map the location and size of earthquakes as they occur, enabling us to predict the probable impact of future earthquakes. The pattern of the internal structure of the Earth, tectonic plates, and three main types of plate boundaries are all shown graphically.
