Nests and burrows
Some birds and insects build nests, and some animals dig burrows. Examples include a swift that nests behind a waterfall, a woodpecker that nests inside an ant nest, weaver birds with interlocking nests, and termite nests inside large mounds. Examples of animals that live in burrows include prairie dogs, foxes (in dens), badgers (in setts), and moles.
