Canada's Scottish heritage
Canada's second Prime Minister, Alexander Mackenzie, arrived as a Scottish stonemason. While he and many other Scots prospered, others found life difficult in Canada and returned home. Even for those who stayed, links to their Scottish homeland remained strong and have continued until today.
