Strong magnets
Very strong magnets are used to hold workers in place as they paint ships, radar dishes and buildings. Each magnet is designed to hold a weight of 120kg, pulling vertically down. To remove the magnet, a lever arrangement is needed to prise one end from the steel. This weakens the magnetic force enough to pull the magnet off the steel.
