What is poetry?

Griff Rhys Jones introduces the nature of poetry. Firstly he recites the first stanza of 'Daffodils' by Wordsworth, as an example of how poetry covers a range of emotion and interest. He talks to a series of well-known poets about how they define the nature of poetry, and where it comes from (for example as a response to the natural rhythms of life, or an attempt by the poet to describe things truthfully). He then recounts how his own interest was raised by an eccentric teacher who performed poems energetically during lessons. Jones found that the poetry became lodged in his memory.
