The Lowry Gallery in Salford
A brief overview of the history of Salford in the North West of England before the presenter takes us into the Lowry Galley building. The artist L.S. Lowry came from Salford and the Gallery is a celebration of his work. Lowry is best known for painting scenes related to industrial mills and football; 'Going to the Match' is one of his most famous pieces. The gallery is full of Lowry鈥檚 paintings, sketches and even some of his possessions. The clip describes facts and figures related to the building of the Gallery and students also have the opportunity to learn about some of the non-Lowry exhibits.
