Child labour in the coal industry
Made in Wales looks at child labour in Victorian times and visits the Big Pit National Mining Museum. Back in the early 19th century child labour was common, with children as young as five years old working up to six days a week under ground. The clip includes a disturbing diary extract from a small child who was injured in the mines.
