Hedd Wyn - The Hero
The history of Hedd Wyn (born Ellis Evans), Trawsfynydd poet who won the chair in the 1917 National Eisteddfod in Birkenhead having died at the First World War battle of Passchendaele a few days before. That year the Chair was covered in a black cloth.
