Charles Burton and the Rhondda group
Footage of a group of art students travelling together by train to Art College in Cardiff fired with enthusiasm, dedication and heated discusssion. Present-day footage of Treherbert-born Charles Burton in his studio, painting and talking about his work and the time spent in the Rhondda Group. These art students lived in the Rhondda and yet had a keen eye on what was happening in other parts of the world in relation to new art movements. There was a strong and new belief post Second World War that one could really do something oneself wherever one was.
