Did You Know?
Feynman met his first wife, Arline Greenbaum, at high school. While they were engaged, Arline was diagnosed with tuberculosis, a disease that was then usually fatal. Although the couple married as soon as possible, they enjoyed fewer than five years together before Arline's death in 1945. The story of Feynman's first marriage was told in the 1996 film Infinity, starring Matthew Broderick and Patricia Arquette.
