"I do have a couple of firearms for self-defence"

After the December shooting in Sandy Hook, the debate about guns in the United States is more intense than ever with passionate and emotive arguments on both sides.

In his home state of Vermont, writer and journalist D.D. Guttenplan explores the cultural and historical roots of America's love affair with guns. It's one of the most liberal states, but also one of the easiest places in the U.S. to buy and carry a gun.

Guttenplan speaks to his friend Mark Dunbar, a farmer from Vermont, who has some interesting thoughts on the issue of gun ownership.
