Venezuela has announced seven days of public mourning for their president who has died aged 58 after 14 years in power. He had been seriously ill with cancer for over a year.
Rafael Correa, Ecuador's president says Chavez's death was an "irreparable loss" for Latin America, "We have lost a revolutionary, but millions of us remain inspired." However Michael Moynihan in the Daily Beast says "good riddance" to the leader.
