Muslims in Bedfordshire want local police to crack down on religious hate crime
Muslims living in Bedfordshire say the police aren't taking religious hate crime seriously enough, that鈥檚 according to a specialist helpline that monitors anti-Muslim attacks.
It鈥檚 closely observing the force after it uncovered 58 religious hate incidents in the county last year despite only 11 cases being recorded by police in official figures.
Tell Mama recently had a meeting with Bedfordshire police to raise their concerns about the matter.
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire Olly Martins told presenter Chetan Pathak they do take religious hate crime seriously but more does need to be done.
