The Bloodhound SSC is a supersonic car aiming for the world land speed record. A team of young Bloodhound investigators are set challenges by Dr Yan Wong. The investigators find out how Bloodhound will slow down. They meet with Annie Berrisford at Santa Pod, who shows them Split Second cars that are powered by jet engines and are slowed down in two ways - a parachute and wheel brakes. Annie explains that Bloodhound will have both types too; the wheel brakes are for low speeds of less than 100 mph.
