With dwindling numbers listening to shortwave radio, the ´óÏó´«Ã½ World Service radically shifted its focus to the Arab and Persian world, and launched two innovative television services. ´óÏó´«Ã½ Arabic Television provided a solid news service, whilst ´óÏó´«Ã½ Persian Television focussed on youth and current affairs.
