The IRA extends its bombing campaign to London. The Old Bailey and Scotland Yard were among four prestigious targets. One person died and over 200 were injured. London had never seen anything like it in peacetime before. Although ten members of the IRA team responsible were arrested, the publicity generated was enormous.
