Life cycle of stars
Jon Chase and students play a game of stacking wooden blocks which demonstrates the balance between the forces in a star. The students use the game to model the collapse of the core of a star as it runs out of energy at the end of its life. Jon explains how the dust and gas released from dying stars form new stars and solar systems. He describes the life cycle of stars using a rap.
