Yes you can – raising children in Leicester with an attitude for success
Three words, that can make all the difference… the ‘Yes You Can’ mentoring programme in Leicester called Kaine, best known for its gospel choir, has been lifting the city’s black and mixed race children and preparing them for opportunities. It was recognised by one of the most powerful black businessmen in the world, the multi-millionaire Damon Buffini, who started life on Leicester's Thurnby Lodge estate. In this extract ´óÏó´«Ã½ Leicester’s Everton Osbourne spoke to Greg Smith from the project, one young twelve year old mentee, Shem Brown, and his mum Marion who told us how pleased she's been by Shem's change in attitude.
