Slate mining in Blaenau Ffestiniog during the 1980s
A look at the Welsh slate industry in a Blaenau Ffestiniog quarry from the 1980s featuring black and white archive of quarrymen going underground. The miners featured use the same mining techniques as there forefathers except that they use battery lamps instead of candles. Slate is quarried here by digging a large hole and adding dynamite.
