The London Marathon: A British Muslim runner's perspective

Thousands of runners managed to cross the finishing line in the London Marathon, despite fears about security following the deadly bombings at the Boston Marathon.

The tragic events were marked and many runners wore black ribbons to pay their respect to the victims and a brief silence was observed before the start.
