Witness, the World Service eye-witness history programme, was one of two Sony Gold award winners at the recent UK radio awards. The programme’s editor Kirsty Reid explains how the programme approaches its subjects from the point of view of the individual – from the great events of history, to other less obvious perspectives which shed light on social and cultural developments. Plus an interview with Cat McShane the presenter of a Heart and Soul documentary about the challenges involved in making an unusual evangelical movement led by women.
