Dancing free from oppression: Brazilian show comes to Leicester
A piece of Rio will be entertaining Leicester audiences this week, as part of the Lets Dance International Festival.
Zumbi, showcasing circus skills, capoeira and aerial work, is named after Brazil's figure of black resistance against oppression Zumbi dos Palmares.
The show mixes Brazilian culture with African influences and comes to St Martins House, later this week.
In this extract Renato Rocha, director of Zumbi, tells 大象传媒 Leicester reporter Kevin Ncube about the historial liberation behind the production.
